WBEZ’s Prisoncast! and the Mud Theatre Project present a new radio drama — written and performed almost exclusively by currently or formerly incarcerated thespians. “The Story of Violence," based on an award-winning script by playwrights at Dixon Correctional Center in Illinois, examines Chicago’s gun violence problem through five characters’ perspectives as their lives intersect at a downtown hotel room.

This piece was broadcast on WBEZ last month but was shared online by WBEZ's afternoon newsletter, The Rundown. Make sure to give "The Story of Violence" a listen.

Congrats to Signal Hill!

Signal Hill, the newly launched audio magazine, was just featured on the New Yorker's Best Podcasts of 2025 list!

Signal Hill is produced by talented creators from across the country, but Chicago is home to one of Signal Hill's EIC's, Jackson Roach. Congratulations to Jackson and the Signal Hill team!
