Now that school is back in session, and summer travel is over, we thought it was high time to get together again. Come join us at Pilot Project Brewing’s Wrigleyville location at the end of this month.

Website Upgrades

We've been hard at work upgrading our website to better serve our members. Here's what's available now:

Audiomakers Directory

Our long standing Chicago Audiomakers Directory has been upgraded — you can now easily edit your profile and add your work to our brand new Shows page.

Do you do tape syncs for extra income? If so, make sure to update your profile with that information. Then CAC can refer to tape sync requests your way.

Shows Page

Looking to share your work and connect it to your Audiomakers Directory profile? We've got a brand new Shows page to gather and share work made by Chicago Audiomakers. We'll periodically pull from this list to showcase projects for our community.

Jobs Directory

If you're looking for work, or looking to hire someone, you should check out our new Jobs page. We've even got a brand new weekly job digest — just sign up for the Job's newsletter here. Here's a few of the current listings.

If you're looking to hire someone — even for a short gig, an internship, or something part-time, you can also easily submit your posting to our database.

Events Page

We've also upgraded our events page to make it easier to pick and choose what you're interested in. You can now download calendar events for individual events instead of subscribing to the whole calendar, and even add your own events (subject to CAC’s review)!

We've also got a dedicated Meetings page where you can see what we've got coming up and listen to recent meetings you missed or want to revisit.

Member Survey Results

Big thank you to everyone who filled out our member survey. We got a really great response and are glad to see that what we're already doing is pretty popular. We've also got some helpful feedback on what new directions we should head in. Keep an eye out for more from us on that front soon!

Some fun details from the survey results:

• Our member base is about 30% journalists, 23% non-fiction or chat show producers
• About 25% of us are in the first 5 years of our career, while 36% have been in the field more than 15 years.
• About 70% of you voted in favor of a mentorship program, and just under half voted for micro-grants and group feedback sessions

Monthly Calls Moving to Wednesday

Because of the strong support for Wednesday's, we're moving our monthly calls to Wednesday's starting in November. Our October call will remain on Thursday October 1st, but from that point forward our calls will be the first Wednesday of every month from 5-6pm.
