- Audio Flux in Chicago happened last week and it was a huge success!
- Chicago, it's time to show up for Audio Flux, let's make sure we have a good turnout - read below to see how!
- Our next monthly meeting is coming up this Thursday! We're going to hear Jake Sorgen share some of his work.
Audio Flux in Chicago with Julie Shapiro
Last Thursday we hosted our second event, CAC and Rivet360 present: Audio Flux in Chicago. We had more than 100 people join us!
Special thanks to Audio Flux in Chicago's sponsor, Rivet360: Rivet360 is a trusted audio production partner for companies seeking to expand their reach through smart, high-impact storytelling.

This event celebrated the creative beating heart of audio which is the foundation of why so many of us do this work. If you're unaware, Audio Flux is an international creative competition focusing on creativity through constraint. Everyone is invited to create a short story (like this excellent piece) based on a theme, and adhering to a set of prompts.
Julie Shapiro, co-creator of Audio Flux, joined us in Chicago to launch the next Audio Flux circuit with the theme: Creative Tension!

Also joining us was Chicago's own award winning producer, Sarah Geis, who is creating a commissioned piece for this circuit.

Chicago has been notoriously absent from many past circuits. Lets step it up and make sure to submit for Circuit 06!
August CAC Meeting
With the start of a new month comes another one of CAC's monthly drop-in meetings. These meetings are a chance to socialize, network, share projects, and troubleshoot your production headaches.
We host these meetings on the first Thursday of every month at 5pm. They are free to join and are drop-in. You're always welcome, never required!

Members Spotlight
At this meeting we're doing our fourth "CAC Spotlight". It's an idea inspired by the Podcast Salon's event series where the work of talented audio producers in and around Chicago is showcased.
Our third spotlight is Jake Sorgen:
Jake is an audio producer, composer, and sound designer whose work has spanned theatre and film scoring, podcast and narrative audio production, multimedia performance, public radio, contemporary classical compositions often fusing language, story, and sound, songwriting, and improvised electro-acoustic music. In the radio/podcast/narrative audio space. Jake has worked with clients including NPR, CNN, The Poetry Foundation, Braver Angels, USAFacts, and The College of American Pathologists (CAP). Currently he works in production and sound design on a slate of podcasts produced by both Riester Influence, a DC-based PR and Public Affairs firm, and the CAP based in Northfield, Ill.
