Sound Design Training Update: Online Session Available

We've received some very helpful feedback from you about our Sound Design training coming up next month. This training - our very first - has been an experiment for us, and based on that feedback we're making a change.

Our Sound Design training will now be an online session, available to anyone across the country — open to people of any skill level.

This change makes it easier to join the training if you're traveling for the summer, or even if you're not based in Chicago!

Our Interactive Talk is designed for beginner and intermediate skill levels — now $25 (originally $50):

• That means anyone who has the desire to build sound design skills but has little experience beyond basic edits. Maybe you work mostly in Descript to add intro music, cut filler words, etc... Or maybe you have worked in a full featured DAW like Pro Tools or Logic but aren't sure how to take the next step.
• This will cover skills that are useful for anyone working in audio, whether you're a journalist, documentary producer, hobbyist, or an audio fiction creator like Jeffrey. There is something for everyone!

Who is Jeffrey Nils Gardner?

Jeffrey Nils Gardner (they/them) is a director, audio artist, and sound designer. Through their studio Audacious Machine Creative, they've made fiction podcasts like The Harbingers (a 2025 Tribeca Festival selection) and Unwell, a Midwestern Gothic Mystery (winner of the 2021 BBC Best Audio drama award), and have worked on shows for Audible, Atypical Artists, Vox, Gideon Media, Rusty Quill Ltd, and more.
